The Beacon target, on the Bourlamaque Zone, is located approximately 1km Northwest of the shear hosted gold mineralization at the former Wrightbar mine which historically produced 68,612 tonnes to 5.6 g/t Au for and the former Beacon No2 which historically produced 132,328 tonnes to 2.41 g/t Au (Source: SIGEOM/MERN).
The Beacon zone consists of a Northeast-trending quartz-tourmaline shear. Historical channel samples (Alexis Minerals 2007) returned 6.9 g/t Au over 6.0m and 45.3 g/t Au over 1.5m.
In 2017, four holes were tested laterally and at depth to show extensions to the principal shear vein. Three holes were drilled parallel to the principal shear to evaluate the potential and contribution from cross-cutting veins.
Results were:
Operation | Production Years | Tonnes (metric tonnes) |
Grade (g/t Au) |
Ounces Au (oz.Au) |
Ferderber | 1979 to 1974 | 1,703,425 | 6.89 | 362,000 |
Dumont | 1980 to 1994 | 1,272,683 | 6.31 | 258,000 |
Lac Herbin | 2008 to 2016 | 1,156,716 | 4.64 | 172,652 |
TOTAL | 4,132,824 | 5.97 | 792,652 |
