In the Val d’Or Camp, QMX has 100% ownership in properties representing the largest land position in the region, covering more than 200 km². The property area is favourable for both gold and base metal exploration and discovery, and hosts multiple past-producing gold and base metal mines.
Historical production from the Camp is 0.7 million tonnes (Mt) of copper, 0.7 Mt zinc, 18.4 Moz of gold and 50.0 Moz of silver.
There is a long history of discoveries in the region and across the land package. New discoveries are also being made in the region with recent discoveries on the western boundary by Integra Gold and to the south by Alexandria Minerals.
QMX is currently pursuing near term opportunities with a focus on prospective gold zones along the south western boundary through its Winter 2016 South West Drill Program, which includes:
- Compiling available data and prioritizing initial targets on the south western portion of the property
- Geophysics across target area underway
- Plans to commence drilling mid-November consisting of 3,000-4,000m in 8-10 holes
- Incorporate new drill hole and geophysics data into subsequent drill campaign to commence in early 2017
